The ONLY configuration which doesn’t work right is the TCL tv and TCL sound bar setup. Note I am a long time A/V home theatre guy who currently has 8 TCL televisions spread across 3 properties with just about every audio configuration you could imagine, including different brands of sound bars (Samsung, LG & TCL) Roku powered speakers w/ a roku subwoofer and finally a Denon 9.1 Atmos setup in my home Theater. And fail to fix problems that they are well aware of which causes less than a satisfactory user experience.
The older I get the more annoying it becomes that manufacturers fail to ever test their products prior to releasing them to the public. Needless to say this is quite an inconvenient method of getting their own two products to play properly together. It then settles on playing the audio through the sound bar. Somewhere along the line I figured out that if I go to the sound bar and press the input button 1 time, the tv goes through a number of cycles back and forth between the sound bar and the tv speakers playing the audio.
More often than not when I turn my tv on, I get NO sound output. One would ASSUME there would be complete compatibility between the companies own product line, but sadly no. I have a TCL 55R615 and a TCL sound bar, Alto 7 with subwoofer. TCL really needs to get their act together with their ARC hdmi port! Disable TV Speakers in Audio, Set S/PDIF and ARC to anything that doesn't have word 'Plus' in it, make sure HDMI ARC is enabled. TLDR: When you change volume on TCL remote make sure the volume icon is showing speaker, not headphones. That's wat worked for me after all day of troubleshooting. I continued fondling with audiojack port and eventually the icon for volume changed, finally showing a speaker, not headphones.

My S/PDIF and ARC is now set to Dolby Digital DTS (DD DTS Plus won't work, I tried)ĪRC on HDMI 3 enabled in Settings>System>Control other devices(CEC). My previous setup for sound was 2 regular speakers with subwoofer through regular (headphone) jack, and what I noticed is my volume icon is showing headphones when I change volume using TV remote.Īs someone suggested previously, I tried plugging on headphones again and was getting sound through then, but as soon as I disconnected them, the icon didn't change.Īt some point, I also changed my Audio Settings turning off TV Speakers. While troubleshooting, I noticed that the TV has no sound even when nothing is connected to HDMI ARC port. Had this exact issue today with TCL 65r615 and Samsung H60T soundbar.
